The ancient Japanese buried their dead in the hollow trunks of jade trees.

This photo was taken on June 5, 2000, about a month after I brought Buddy home from the tree pound. Buddy and Gwen are both perched atop Kip the HP server, near the front of my fabulous two-bedroom flat.

They told me that Buddy's name is Buddy Ebsen, but I don't think that's quite right. In this photo you can see that Gwen has fallen in love with my jade plant. She does not move from its side except to eat and to powder her nose.
